A castle for children

Exciting experiences for children: a range of activities and events bring the castle’s history and daily life to life in a way that’s engaging, interesting and child-friendly.

Let’s be honest: sometimes a visit to a museum with your parents can be pretty boring, can’t it? That’s why Ahrensburg Castle offers its younger guests child-friendly ways to discover the castle and its secrets.

Object Finder:

Sets of cards depicting various items from the castle are available at the museum ticket office. You’ll need to look closely, as sometimes only parts of the items are visible. Who can find the most items? Even the very youngest children can join in, as the cards come in different levels of difficulty.

Audio guide:

What’s that? Is that a lion roaring? Is that a Rococo sofa telling its story over there? And what does all this have to do with the palace and its inhabitants?

Listeners will find out in this special audio guide for children. In 24 segments, children learn lots of interesting and curious facts about the house and its history. What makes it special is that a child guides the young visitors through the rooms. And the furnishings get a say too.

The audio guide offers an unusual and highly entertaining tour that brings the castle and its history to life, not just for children.
