The castle

For 440 years, Ahrensburg Palace has been one of the most beautiful Renaissance palaces in Schleswig-Holstein. Over this long period, the palace’s inhabitants have experienced both joy and sorrow, as well as periods of decline and financial hardship alongside times of wealth and splendour.

The castle museum features impressive artefacts spanning a long history, from the Renaissance to Historicism, with the modern era also represented.

Today, the castle is not only a museum and the landmark of the town of Ahrensburg, but also offers its visitors a wide range of opportunities to discover it from a completely different perspective.
